HC Deb 17 March 1953 vol 512 c182W
94. Mr. Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the fact that the number of girls in Scotland under 18 years of age, registered as unemployed, is the highest total of any region in the United Kingdom, he will consider the re-formation of a Women's Land Army.

Mr. J. Stuart

I do not think it would be appropriate at this time to consider the re-establishment of this essentially war-time organisation.
