HC Deb 11 March 1953 vol 512 c124W
66. Mr. D. Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how far he was consulted by the Acting Governor of British Guiana, before he decided to refuse permission to enter the country to four British subjects, three from Trinidad and one from Jamaica; and what advice he tendered to the Colonial Government or Governor concerned.

Mr. Lyttelton

I was not consulted. The matter is within the discretion of the local Government.
