HC Deb 10 March 1953 vol 512 cc109-10W
Mr. Malcolm MacPherson

asked the Secretary of State for War what consultations he had with the Minister of Education and with the Secretary of State for Scotland, respectively, preliminary to reaching his decision to establish Welbeck College.

Mr. J. R. H. Hutchison

The Ministry of Education gave most valuable help both in the investigations which led up to the conception of Welbeck College and later in the detailed planning. The Scottish Education Department was also consulted in the early stages of the scheme and provided useful advice.
