28. Lieut.-Colonel Bromley-Davenport

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will supplement his recent announcement of a list of capital development schemes for the railways costing £42 million which are either in progress or are so far authorised for 1954–55, by providing a similar list setting out the total of major capital development schemes for roads over the same period.

With permission, I will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT in a few days time a list of major road improvements costing over £100,000 already authorised and still proceeding.

I am unable to anticipate what provision can be made for 1954–55.
