HC Deb 19 June 1953 vol 516 cc97-8W
Sir G. Hutchinson

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will now amend the Local Government (Compensation) Regulations, 1948, so as to secure a right of appeal from the decisions of the Compensation Appeal Tribunals established under these regulations to a common appellate tribunal, having regard to the views expressed by the Court of Appeal in the case of The King v. Northumberland Compensation Appeal Tribunal ex parte Shaw.

Mr. H. Macmillan

I am not satisfied on the information before me that there is sufficient cause for the amendment proposed by my hon. and learned Friend, particularly as I understand that little, if any further resort to these Regulations is likely.
