asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when it is proposed to extend the franchise to women in Fiji.

Mr. Lyttelton

A majority of unofficial members of the Fiji Legislative Council voted against the extension of the franchise to women in December, 1949. I am unaware of any change in the council's views.
