HC Deb 17 June 1953 vol 516 c67W
76. Mr. Russell

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to what extent the history of the Colonial Empire is taught in schools in the Colonies.

Mr. Lyttelton

Most history teachers in colonial schools devote part of their syllabus to the history of their own and neighbouring territories. Much has been done in recent years to produce suitable text books for this purpose and several more are in course of preparation.
