§ Mr. Gammans28,679 applications for telephones were received and 28,010 new telephones provided in Scotland during 1952. At 31st March, 1953, 39,280 applications were oustanding.
§ Mr. Steeleasked the Assistant Postmaster-General the number of applications made for the installation of a telephone, and the number installed, during 1952 in the burghs of Dumbarton and Helensburgh and the district of Cardross, giving each area separately; and the number of applications still outstanding at the most recent date.

from Albania in respect of the Corfu Channel mine outrage, in order to make special compensation to the dependants of the victims of this crime.
§ Mr. NuttingHer Majesty's Government believe that the best hope of obtaining compensation lies in our claim to the Albanian gold which is now submitted to the International Court of Justice. But, as the hon. Member has already been informed, a settlement by Albania of her debt would not in any case affect the amount of compensation which has already been paid to the dependants of the dead seamen in accordance with normal pension arrangements.
