91. Mr. Callaghan

asked the Secretary of State for War why 224979 Corporal G. Brinkworth, Royal Army Medical Corps, of Penrith, who was released from the Army over a month ago on return from the Middle East, has not received his leave pay, ration allowanes, etc.; and how much longer he must wait.

This soldier got an advance payment from his unit before going on leave and the final payment of his account was sent to him on 30th June. There was undoubtedly delay in making the final settlement. I am looking into this and will write to the hon. Member.
