Mr. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies which of the Colonies have been able to deration sugar since the end of the war; and which still maintain the rationing of this commodity.

Mr. Lyttelton,

pursuant to his written reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 14th April, 1953; Vol. 514, c. 7], supplied the following information:

Sugar has been derationed since the end of the war in the following territories with which I am concerned:

Bahamas, Bermuda, Brunei, Falkland Islands, Gambia, Kenya, Federation of Malaya, North Borneo, Northern Rhodesia, Sarawak, Seychelles, Tanganyika. It is still rationed in Cyprus, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Malta, St. Helena, Singapore and Zanzibar.
