10. Lieut.-Colonel Uptonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the reductions in retail prices which raised the purchasing power of the £ from 18s. 3d. in April to 18s. 4d. in May, taking the purchasing power of the £ as 20s. in October, 1951.
