§ 57. Dr. Strossasked the Minister of National Insurance approximately how many insured workers receive in a given year injury benefit on account of dermatitis following irritation by dust or liquids; and, of these, what numbers ultimately receive disablement benefit and what numbers a life pension.
§ Mr. TurtonIt is not possible to give figures showing how many of those awarded injury benefit for an industrial72W disease in a particular year go on to an award of disablement benefit or may ultimately receive a life pension.
In 1950, however, about 21,000 awards of injury benefit were made for the disease in question and about 3,000 initial awards of disablement benefit. At the end of the year there were about 2,200 pensions in payment for the disease of which 80 were life pensions.
