50. Mr. Champion

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will take steps to improve the provision of hot meals and drinks for soldiers engaged on the wet and exposed job of repairing our sea walls.

The men are getting regular hot meals and drinks, including rum, and extra rations for arduous duty. The local military commanders have toured their flood areas extensively and have paid particular attention to this matter.
