HC Deb 11 February 1953 vol 511 c29W
1. Mr. Langford-Holt

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what charge is made to aliens for the provision of visas to enter the United Kingdom; and the reason for the differences as between nationals of different countries.

Mr. Nutting

Under the provisions of the Foreign Service Fees Order in Council, 1951, the normal charge for an entry visa is £1 2s. 6d. and for a transit visa 2s. 6d. The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs has, however, power to direct that the fees charged to the nationals of any particular country shall be the equivalent of the fees charged by that country.
