HC Deb 17 December 1953 vol 522 c89W
81. Mrs. White

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if arrangements have now been completed for the party from Bechuanaland to study forms of government in other parts of Africa; and if he will give details.

Mr. J. Foster

On making inquiry of the High Commissioner, I find that a party of Bechuana visited Uganda and Tanganyika in October and November. They spent approximately a month studying local government, native courts, soil conservation and improved methods of agriculture in those territories. I am sending details to the hon. Lady by letter.
