asked the Minister of Labour what vacancies there are on the Aycliffe Trading Estate; and how many people have been made redundant within the last three months by firms operating on the Aycliffe Trading Estate.

The answer to the first part of the Question, at 20th November, 1953, the latest date for which information is available, is 38, and to the second, during the three months ended on the same date, 79.

40. Mr. Slater

asked the Minister of Labour the figures of men and women employed by firms on the Aycliffe Trading Estate; and how such figures com pare with the years of 1951 and 1952.

The latest figures available, for the end of October, 1953, are 1,892 males and 1,004 females. The corresponding figures for October, 1951 are 1,844 males and 1,159 females and for October, 1952, 1,760 males and 1,068 females respectively.
