§ 52. Mr. Oliver
asked the Minister of Health what steps are taken to ascertain whether persons employed in the preparing, cooking and serving of food in hotels, restaurants and road-side cafes are free from infectious diseases such as tuberculosis.
§ Miss Hornsby-Smith
There is no general power to require the persons concerned to be medically examined for this purpose, and my right hon. Friend is advised that the present state of our knowledge does not suggest that such a power would be justifiable as a means of preventing the spread of infection.
