§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI regret that I have no record of the number of civil servants in post on 1st November. 1951. Returns of their staffs are made by Departments on the first day of each quarter only. Departmental figures for 1st October, 1951, were published as a Cmd. 8406 and those for 1st January, 1952, as Cmd. 8482. I hope to present to the House detailed figures for 1st April, 1952, in a few days' time.
