HC Deb 09 December 1952 vol 509 c43W
132. Mr. H. Johnson

asked the Minister of Works whether he will take steps to include hotels in the higher licence-free limit as industrial buildings, so that hotel proprietors may expend on repairs and decoration, in time for the Coronation, sums of up to £2,000 per annum without licence.

Mr. Eccles

I regret that in present circumstances I cannot extend to hotels the higher free limit which I announced on 18th November. Licences for essential repairs above the free limit are granted freely by my Department.
