§ Mr. Murrayasked the President of the Board of Trade how many factories are at present under construction in the North-East Coast Development Area; and if he will give the names of the places where such factories are being erected.
§ Mr. H. StraussSeventeen new factories and 60 extensions to existing factories were under construction in the area on 31st October, 1952. These figures relate to projects exceeding 5,000 sq. ft. Since a list of places where this work is going on would be very long, I give the figures by districts. Twenty-seven180W schemes are under construction in Tyneside, five in Wearside, nine in the Durham Coalfield, 33 in Teesside and three in Darlington.
