asked the Minister of Works how many steel-framed office blocks are under construction in Manchester at the present time; and how many of these are intended for use as Government offices, either temporarily or permanently.

Mr. Eccles

There are three steel-framed office buildings under construction at present in the Manchester City Council area. A part of one of these buildings will be used as Government offices temporarily.

Thirty-Seven steel-framed office buildings are at present under construction in London, of which seven are Crown buildings and 11 will be leased for use as Government offices.
