HC Deb 26 November 1951 vol 494 c108W
84. Mr. Janner

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that duck eggs may be poisonous unless boiled at least 10 minutes and should be eaten within three or four days unless kept in refrigerators; and whether he will arrange that printed cards containing these instructions be placed prominently on the counters of all shops where duck eggs are sold.

Dr. Hill

There is some slight risk of infection which makes it desirable to cook duck eggs thoroughly. This point receives wide publicity and I do not think we need special placards on the subject.
