HC Deb 19 November 1951 vol 494 cc8-9W
85. Lieut.-Colonel Bromley-Davenport

asked the Minister of Food, in view of the decision to ban any further imports of canned ham into this country, what steps he is taking to encourage the greater production of ham within Great Britain from British pigs.

Major Lloyd George

The production of pigs in this country has recently increased but for the time being we must continue to use most of the British pig meat for the production of bacon for the ration.
