§ Mr. G. Williams
asked the Minister of Agriculture if he is satisfied that there are sufficient veterinary surgeons in view of the increased interest in attestation.40W
Mr. T. Williams
The great interest shown in attestation recently has certainly thrown a strain on the resources of the veterinary profession, and delays in carrying out tuberculin tests have occurred in some parts of the country. The attested herds scheme continues to make rapid progress, however, and I do not think that the Government's plans for tuberculosis eradication are at present being seriously hampered by a shortage of veterinary surgeons.
