asked the Minister of Food whether, in view of the importance of the matter, he will take powers to ensure the implementation of the model bylaws relating to cleanliness in the handling, wrapping and delivering of food.

In view of the excellent response from local authorities, I do not think that this is necessary. One thousand and eighty-seven of them have already made bylaws based on the model bylaws and have had them confirmed. Another 171 authorities have bylaws in various stages of preparation.
