HC Deb 21 March 1951 vol 485 cc288-9W
90. Mr. Alport

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many lives have been lost in civil disturbances in the territories for which he is responsible during 1950, 1949, 1948, and 1946.

Mr. J. Griffiths

From the records available in my Department, the numbers are 110, 40, 59 and 163 respectively. These figures do not include lives lost in Malaya during the emergency period.
