HC Deb 19 March 1951 vol 485 c224W
65. Mr. Teeling

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will consider approaching S.C.A.P. for permission for the Japanese Government to open a Japanese overseas agency in this country on the lines of those already opened in the United States and France; and how far such permission is now necessary.

Mr. Younger

The Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers has in fact asked several Governments whether they would be prepared to receive such agencies from the Japanese Government. His Majesty's Government have been considering this matter for some time, and have now decided to agree to the opening of a Japanese overseas agency in this country.
