HC Deb 13 March 1951 vol 485 cc157-8W
Mr. John MacLeod

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that the county council of Ross and Cromarty regard the provision of only 12 telephone kiosks in their county, as allocated by his Department for the year 1951, as totally insufficient, having regard to the many remote areas of this county where the provision of telephone kiosks is essential; and whether he will make a substantial increase in this number.

Mr. Ness Edwards

The quota of 12 is two more than that for last year. I regret that it cannot be increased further, in view of the claims of other counties and the limitations on our resources.
