HC Deb 08 March 1951 vol 485 cc92-3W
111. Mr. Bossom

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that there is a ship carrying £1,250,000 worth of rubber now on its way to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics from a British port; and whether he will now give consideration to stopping the export of rubber to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics from British as well as from colonial ports.

Mr. H. Wilson

I am aware that ships carrying rubber to Russia have recently left British ports, but I understand that the value of the rubber is much less than is stated by the hon. Member. As to the second part of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Hitchin (Mr. Fisher) on 1st February.
