asked the Minister of Supply why scrap has been sold abroad when it is needed by the iron and steel industry at home.

I am not aware that any ferrous scrap has been sold abroad.

109. Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Supply what special steps he proposes to take to ensure that sufficient scrap iron is available for the re-armament programme.

I would refer the hon. Member to the replies which I gave to the hon. Member for Altrincham and Sale (Mr. Erroll) on 19th February last, to the hon. and learned Member for Brigg (Mr. E. L. Mallalieu) on 23rd April and to the hon. Member for Middlesbrough, West (Mr. G. Cooper) on 7th May.
