38. Mr. Philips Price

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will consider bringing the AngloPersian oil dispute before the Assembly of the United Nations under Article 11 of the Charter.

Mr. Ernest Davies

His Majesty's Government have referred the dispute to the International Court of Justice, which is an organ of the United Nations. Since the dispute involves complicated legal issues the International Court was considered by His Majesty's Government to be the appropriate United Nations organisation to which to refer it.
