HC Deb 23 April 1951 vol 487 cc1-2W
16. Miss Hornsby-Smith

asked the Minister of Food if he is satisfied with the now accepted method of importing carcases of meat from which the glands have been removed in view of the fact that this process lessens the possibility of tracing disease.

Mr. F. Willey

There are provisions regulating the removal of glands. Moreover we require inspection before and after slaughter and the meat imported must be accompanied by an official certificate indicating that the inspections have been of the necessary standard.
