WilleyAt the outbreak of war in 1939, importers of meat were invited to join the Meat Importers National (Defence) Association Limited, a company formed to handle and distribute imported meat for the Government. The company is paid for its services by a commission on the tonnage of meat actually handled. The commission covers the expenses of the company and the balance is available for distribution to its members.
