HC Deb 12 April 1951 vol 486 c107W
Captain Bullock

asked the Postmaster-General when it is expected that the reception of the British Broadcasting Corporation's Third Programme to the Merseyside area will be adequate.

Mr. Ness

Edwards: I understand from the B.B.C. that in addition to the service provided by the local transmitter (wavelength 194 metres), reception of the Third Programme in Merseyside should have been improved from 8th April by the introduction of a new aerial and a more powerful transmitter at Daventry (wavelength 464 metres). There may, however, still be some fading of the Third Programme in parts of the area.
