§ 23. Mr. Pagetasked the Minister of Supply if he will give an assurance that machinery requisitioned from Craven 286W Brothers will be paid for at a price not in excess of the contract price to the Russian or Polish Governments as the case may be.
§ Mr. G. R. StraussIf it is necessary to requisition machines, compensation will be payable under the terms of the Compensation (Defence) Act, 1939. It is hoped, however, that machines needed by the Government will be bought under contract. Fair prices will be paid, but I cannot say what relationship these will bear to prices formerly agreed with other intending purchasers.
