§ 69. Mr. Langford-Holtasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when the rules governing the clearance of air freight through Customs were originated and when last amended.
§ Mr. JayClearance of imported goods is subject generally to the requirements of the Customs Acts, and these requirements are applied to aircraft under the authority of the Air Navigation Orders. The first rules were made in 1919; there was an Air Navigation (Consolidation) Order, 1923; and the current Order was made in 1949.
