HC Deb 04 May 1950 vol 474 c224W
70. Mr. Macdonald

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that the Petrol Duty will add to the country doctors' expenses; and what action he proposes to assist doctors in this matter.

Mr. Jay

It would be impracticable to relieve doctors of the increase in the Petrol Duty.- As regards relief by way of additional remuneration, I cannot add to the answer given by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health to the hon. Member for Luton (Dr. Hill) on 2nd instant.
