Mrs. Hillasked the Minister of Works why a licence to build was refused Mr. Milnes in respect of his premises, 1 to 3 and 18 to 22, Clowes Street, Salford, when permission had been granted under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947, for the reinstatement of these premises destroyed by enemy action.
§ Mr. StokesIt has not so far been possible to grant a licence to rebuild this war damaged property because of the restrictions on capital investment announced by the Government last October, and I cannot at present indicate when I shall be able to do so.
