§ 93. Mr. T. Brownasked the Minister of Works if he can give the number of compensation claims received from property owners owning property adjacent to opencast mining sites, which have been damaged by blasting, c.; the number of claims which have been settled; the number awaiting settlement; and the amount of money involved in payment of claims.
§ Mr. Stokes1,563 claims have been received, of which 829 have been settled, leaving 734 outstanding. The sum of £49,361 has been paid in compensation.
