asked the President of the Board of Trade to state, in convenient categories, the tonnage of chemicals which could be used for making ammunition, which have been shipped to Communist China since 30th June, 1950.

The hon. Member will, I am sure, appreciate that it is impossible122W to identify in the Trade Returns all the chemicals which might be used in the manufacture of ammunition, and that many of these chemicals are used for commercial purposes as well as in making ammunition.
