§ Mr. RhodesIn the last two years, a special investigation has been conducted into the possible existence of crude sulphur deposits in the Colonies and reports of the existence of deposits elsewhere in the Commonwealth and in foreign countries have been followed up. These inquiries have not shown the existence of any workable deposits. Processes for the extraction of sulphur from sulphur-bearing materials such as pyrites and spent oxide have been investigated in detail and, although they were uneconomic at the time, are being reconsidered in the light of the present situation.
