§ Mr. Granvilleasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the danger to pedestrians in the main street of Stow-market, Suffolk, due to an increase in heavy vehicle traffic in this narrow thoroughfare; and if he will take steps in the interests of public safety to consider plans for the diversion of heavy vehicles.
§ Mr. BarnesI am aware of the increase in traffic to which the hon. Member refers, but I find that only two accidents to pedestrians are recorded for the past 23 months. I should not be prepared to prohibit the passage of heavy vehicles through the town.
