HC Deb 04 December 1950 vol 482 cc14-5W
Mr. Hutchinson

asked the Minister of Supply if he is aware of the difficulties which are being caused in the electrical contracting trade due to the restriction or prohibition of the importation of metal billets for the manufacture of electrical conduit tubing used in great quantities by the electrical trades; and whether he proposes to take any steps to alleviate the situation.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

The import of steel billets is not restricted or prohibited. We are buying all we can from the Continent, the but there are delays in deliveries.
