asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the total number of sheep in the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright on 1st July, 1939, and 1st July, 1949, respectively.

The total number of sheep returned in the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright as at 4th June, 1939, ad 4th June, 1949, were 403,539 and 336,790 respectively. Numbers as at 1st July are not available.
