§ Mr. TomlinsonIn February, 1949, in round figures 308,000 children in grant-aided primary and secondary schools received free dinners, 2,316,000 received dinners on payment and 2,363,000 children were present but did not receive dinner at school. Dinners were being provided at nearly 27,000 schools or departments.
