HC Deb 14 February 1949 vol 461 cc122-3W
99. Mr. Spence

asked the Minister of Works how many people have been accommodated at the hutted camp at Kintore, Aberdeenshire, during 1948; and whether it is his intention to demolish or retain this camp during 1949.

Mr. Key

Kintore Camp was occupied by about 250 prisoners of war until March, 1948, and was thereafter held for harvest workers to meet expected demands for accommodation which did not materialise. As the camp is no longer required for this purpose the buildings on the site are now being disposed of and it is hoped to derequisition the land by the end of the month.
