asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) whether he will request the Commissioners of Inland Revenue to examine the manner in which the fees and commissions known to have been paid to Sydney Stanley by Great Universal Stores Limited are recorded in the Income Tax returns of that company;

(2) why no request for Income Tax return has been made against Mr. Sydney Stanley since 1940; and what action has been taken by his Department in this matter.
