Mr. Philips Priceasked the Minister of Agriculture what progress has been made during recent months with regard to the introduction of control of the manufacture of veterinary therapeutic substances; and to what extent arrangements have now been made to lay down adequate standards of purity and strength; respectively, for such products and to provide facilities for testing.

WilliamsA draft order providing for control of the manufacture of veterinary therapeutic substances and prescribing standards and tests of purity is almost ready, and I hope to circulate this draft, within the next few weeks, to representatives of the interests concerned for their comments. Facilities for carrying out check tests of the kind prescribed in the order will be available when the order comes into operation.
