asked the President of the Board of Trade the reason for the recent dismissal of men working in the Cornish china clay industry, and indicate the prospects for their re-employment in that industry.

I understand that the reason for the dismissal of about 150 men in the china clay industry is some falling off in the demand for the industry's products, and the prospects for their re-employment in that industry depends on the future level of demand.
