§ Mr. G. BrownThe average number of W.L.A. members employed during 1946 and 1947 was 31,640 and 25,340 respectively. The number employed on 18th October last was 20,970. Land Army members are entitled to the minimum rates of pay appropriate to their age laid down by the Agricultural Wages Board for women agricultural workers generally. For women of 21 and over, this is 68s. per week of 48 hours. No statistical information is available as to the average wage received by W.L.A. members, but numbers of them receive more than the minimum rate.
